Devlog #2: Enemies & Weapons - Untitled Roguelike Project


Hello World!

There it is, another update to this Roguelike Project! It's going to have a name soon but on this update is still called Untitled Roguelike Project. Join me to check the most recent update.


What's New:

  • As promised, when you enter a room the entrance locks itself. You can only escape by killing all enemies
  • After some seconds, enemies are generated. They have a pathfinding system with a range of attack. In the video you can see some melee enemies that stop when are in range to perform an attack (sorry for not including the animation)
  • A weapon switch system was added. By pressing 1 and 2 you can change from the two weapons you will be able to carry. Next update is going to introduce an inventory, drop and pick system
  • Each weapon has it's own shoot delay and shoot type. In the video is shown that the rifle is full-automatic while the pistol is semi-automatic. I'm planning to add more weapons such as swords, rocket launchers, etc.
  • The player can now run!

Other details added:

  • When running or walking, the camera moves to simulate the player movement
  • The camera offset was centered so you can aim more precise

Stay tuned for the next update, which will feature the previously mentioned inventory and drops, but also will include the first prototype of joystick controls support and a reload for weapons.
